Opening in the Grove in Los Angeles in 2012, Umami Burger appealed to locals through beloved staples and a clean, crisp restaurant design. After several years of operation, the establishment repurposed its retail space to diversify the concepts brought to its clientele.

In 2017, Umami Burger reopened with a completely new design aesthetic and some notable changes to the menu.

These menu changes allowed Umami Burger to distinguish itself from competing burger establishments, and stand out as a versatile culinary destination. The updates prompted by the physical renovation included incorporating ghost kitchens such as the sushi concept Krispy Rice and Sam’s Crispy Chicken.

Equitable exposure for all in-house eateries has been created through additional signage, menu listings, and staff training to ensure communication provides a seamless experience.
