The evolution of a shopping destination

The center has further plans to evolve into a 60-acre mixed-use destination over multiple retrofitting and redevelopment phases.

While still being built, the development team has received approval for their Conceptual SWM Plan. It has filed both a Conceptual Site Plan and a Hydraulic Planning Analysis with the necessary entities. Given its long-running status in the community, there are many concerns over the ability to find a place for existing retailers within the new development and the disruption to business operations during construction. Local activists also have apprehension about the impact construction of a long-phased projection could have on the environment.

To address these concerns, the city, the development team, and local organizations have worked to create strategic partnerships, craft studies, and create task forces to ensure they are addressed and ensure timely progress of this impactful development.
