Umami Burger
Opening in the Grove in Los Angeles in 2012, Umami Burger appealed to locals through beloved staples and a clean, crisp restaurant design. After several years of operation, the establishment repurposed its retail space to diversify the concepts brought to its clientele.
Diversifying through repurposing
In 2017, Umami Burger reopened with a completely new design aesthetic and some notable changes to the menu.These menu changes allowed Umami Burger to distinguish itself from competing burger establishments, and stand out as a versatile culinary destination. The updates prompted by the physical renovation included incorporating ghost kitchens such as the sushi concept Krispy Rice and Sam’s Crispy Chicken.
Equitable exposure for all in-house eateries has been created through additional signage, menu listings, and staff training to ensure communication provides a seamless experience.
